Abstract

This study aimed to find out the role of teachers in shaping student characteristics. This research belonged to descriptive research with a qualitative research approach with four subjects. The location of the research was SD Islam Mambaul Hasan. The data sources used were secondary data and primary data. The primary data source was obtained from the results of interviews with teachers in grades 1, 2, and 3 and the principal. Secondary data sources obtained from written sources can be divided into sources of books, journals, or scientific articles, as well as sources from archives and official documents. The data analysis technique in this study is carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions from the results of the collected data. The results of the study stated that in teaching and learning activities, teachers have carried out the role of a teacher, namely as an example, inspiration, motivator, dynamizer, and evaluator for the formation of characteristics in students in grades 1 to 3. The teachers already understand what methods will be applied to each student according to their characteristics.
