Screening for Plagiarism

1. Initial Screening
• All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate) to identify any overlap with previously published works.
2. Permissible Similarity Index
• Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s acceptable threshold (typically below 20%, excluding references and common phrases) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.
3. Verification by Editors
• Editors review flagged content to determine if it constitutes legitimate citations, proper paraphrasing, or unacceptable plagiarism.
4. Consequences of Plagiarism
• If plagiarism is confirmed, the manuscript will be rejected, and authors may be barred from submitting to the journal in the future.
• In cases of post-publication plagiarism detection, the article may be retracted with an official notice published on the journal’s website.
